Over a fortnight subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones continue to honor the duo.
Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt able to share openly about his deep grief.
"Sufficient time has gone by that I can now articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "When we commenced spending more time together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the production, remarking that he doesn't recollect "a single day without laughter".
"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob valued immensely. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to helm it," Elwes wrote.
He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."
In a different piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.
Recently, a Los Angeles judge agreed to bar the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the local authorities.
A judicial mandate put a embargo on the files to limit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" pertaining to the active case.
The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a record noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
In the wake of the killings, public individuals expressed divergent comments.
Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, offering provocative claims that were met with immediate backlash by numerous public figures.
Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his criticism to the critics last week. Speaking on his show, Rogan described the remarks as "disturbing" and remarked they showed a troubling absence of compassion.
Rogan finished by proposing that an aide should have intervened when the impulse to weigh in on the death was made.
